PRAGUE: The state-owned enterprise Mero, the operator of the Czech section of the Druzhba pipeline, has confirmed disruptions in oil supplies, according to a statement on the company's official website.
The company notes that the problems with transit will not affect the energy situation in the Czech Republic, and the accumulated reserves will last for up to 90 days. The pipeline operator also said that it is working to determine the causes of the incident.
Earlier, the Czech portal novinky reported citing the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic Lukas Vlcek that the country’s authorities had registered disruptions in oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline.
The Druzhba oil pipeline goes from Almetyevsk through Bryansk in Russia into Belarus and then splits into a southern branch, which carries oil through Ukraine to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary, and a northern branch, which stretches to Poland and Germany.
