MOSCOW: The number of active monthly users of the Telegram app is much above one billion, founder of the messenger Pavel Durov wrote on his account.
"Telegram now has significantly over 1 billion monthly active users, becoming the second most popular messaging app in the world (excluding the China-specific WeChat)," Durov said.
"User engagement is also rising. On average, each user opens Telegram 21 times daily and spends 41 minutes on the app every day," the messenger founder said. At the same time, Telegram revenue growth "has exploded" and profits totaled $547 mln in 2024.
