MOSCOW: A lobbyist in the US will look for partners for economic projects in Lvov region, as well as establish relations with the government and business, according to documents available to TASS.
Lvov region is the first in 33 years in Ukraine to decide to establish its own contacts in the US. A notice of the contract between Lvov authorities and the Washington lobbying firm Color Nine Group from January 2025 is on the fara.gov website.
According to a TASS correspondent, the package of Lvov documents handed over to the US authorities includes a letter to a lobbying company signed by Maksim Kozitsky, who has headed the region since 2020. It follows from it that Lvov has begun official cooperation with Washington-based Color Nine "to search for potential US partner states to establish sister-state relationships with Lvov region based on common interests and priorities."
"In particular, we ask for assistance in the following matters: search for potential US partner states to establish sister-state relationships with Lvov region based on common interests and priorities; facilitating initial communication with identified government officials and stakeholders on joint projects in the fields of culture, education, economy and tourism; coordinating the development of a formal agreement on the establishment of sister-state relations with representatives of government, business and NGOs," the document said.
Attached to it is a presentation of the region with data on the population, area, economy and transport infrastructure. Emphasis is placed on the border position of the region, proximity to Poland, the presence of a number of border checkpoints. It was also noted that this is one of the largest centers of oil and gas production in Ukraine, with large areas for the development of bioenergy projects and potential for biomass production.
