Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the number of Corona hot spots in Kerala has increased. The new hotspots are Melukavu panchayat and Changanassery municipality in Kottayam district, Kalady panchayat in Malappuram, Karunapuram, Munnar and Edavatty panchayats in Idukki district and Alathur panchayat in Palakkad district.
The Chief Minister said that the state of affairs in the Kottayam and Idukki districts would be taken seriously as these districts moved from the Green Zone to the Red Zone within days.
CM said that everyone should keep social distance to prevent the spread of the virus. Although there is a directive to wear masks in public places and markets, people are reluctant to do so. Wearing mask, including in schools, will be made compulsory.
