Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said it will file a complaint with the ICC against New Zealand for withdrawing from the tour to Pakistan just before the toss.
New Zealand's move was a major blow to Pakistan in the international arena. PCB chairman Ramis Raja said in a Twitter handle that he would approach the ICC against the action of the New Zealand Cricket Board.
New Zealand withdrew just before the start of the first ODI due to security concerns. The tour was scheduled for three ODIs and two Twenty20 matches.
The New Zealand Cricket Board said there was a clear security threat and did not say what kind of threat it was. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had called New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinta Arden directly after learning of the withdrawal.
Imran, who is also the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, said that New Zealand would not withdraw from the tour and that the team would be given impenetrable security, but Jacinta did not agree.
Ramis Raja, Imran's colleague, was elected as PCB chairman a few days ago.
