DUBAI: Israel has a huge hand in spreading terrorism in Islamic countries, hoping to destabilize these areas, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said during a phone conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
"Speaking about the activation of terrorist groups in northern Syria, Pezeshkian stated that the spread of instability and terrorism in the [Middle East] region does not serve the interests of any country, and all nations in the region should participate in the fight against this dangerous activity. <...> Pezeshkian also emphasized the role of the Zionist regime in the spread of instability and terrorism in the Islamic world," Pezeshkian's press service said in a statement.
The Qatari emir pointed out that "the situation in Syria once again proves that stability and security in Syria can only be achieved through dialogue and a political solution." Doha "is ready to play its role in establishing peace in Syria," he noted.
