PARIS: The French Foreign Ministry is going to revise the accreditation procedure for Russian journalists, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Christophe Lemoine said at a briefing.
"Russian journalists receive accreditation for one year. However, this is an issue we need to reconsider," he noted.
He stated that France has always respected the work of Russian journalists, provided they are genuine professionals and their media outlets are not subject to sanctions.
Lemoine added that Paris urges Moscow to reconsider the withdrawal of accreditation for Le Monde correspondent Benjamin Kenel. "Otherwise, it will entail a response from France," the spokesman pointed out.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted that the French Embassy in Moscow had twice in a row refused to issue a visa for Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist Alexander Kudela to work in Paris.
