TEL AVIV: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the negotiating team to set off for the Egyptian capital city of Cairo for talks on the further implementation of the Gaza deal, Netanyahu’s office said.
"In coordination with US Presidential Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has, today, instructed the negotiations team to leave for Cairo tomorrow (on February 17 - TASS) in order to discuss the continued implementation of the first stage of the deal. Following tomorrow's Security Cabinet discussion, the team will receive instructions for the continuation of the negotiations regarding the second stage." It said.
The Israeli prime minister’s office also said that Netanyahu had told Witkoff that that the Israeli war cabinet would meet on February 17 to discuss the second phase of the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release agreement.
