MOSCOW: The recent phone talks between the Russian and US presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, means that Moscow and Washington will from now on focus on peace, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with television host Pavel Zarubin.
"They send a powerful message that from now on we will try to solve problems through dialogue. And from now on we will talk about peace, not war," he said.
According to Peskov, Trump’s views should appeal to any sound-minded person. He said Russia completely lacked communication with the previous US administration.
Putin and Trump spoke by phone on February 12. They discussed stopping hostilities in Ukraine, bilateral relations and some other issues. The leaders agreed to maintain contact and arrange a face-to-face meeting.
