PARIS: The two suspects in the attack on the Russian consulate general in Marseille have be placed in custody, a spokesperson for the Marseille prosecutor’s office told TASS.
"The Marseille prosecutor’s office confirms the detention of two full-aged persons and their placing in custody," the spokesperson said, adding that both are French nationals. The two men, born in 1965 and 1977, are suspected of "damaging property with the use of incendiary or explosive substances."
The Russian consulate general told TASS earlier that on February 24, unknown individuals threw three objects onto the premises of the diplomatic mission. Two of them detonated. There were no casualties, and no material damage done to the building.
